"Bebe" Taylor: Published Author!
Hear her story: Keina "Bebe" Taylor, one of our Children and Youth Development Krew Members!
Recently, her talent in storytelling was recognized with the publication of four of her pieces in a student-led art & literacy journal titled "Castings" at Christian Brothers University. Accompanying the journal was a competition, in which Bebe won second place in the Prose category with her story, "Earth is my New Home".
Her accomplishments come from years of literary appreciation and hard work. She has always loved venturing into the pages of a new story, which steered her to create her own literary masterpieces. Beginning in middle school, writing her pieces by hand, her storytelling led on into high school.
After being accepted into CBU, she chose Creative Writing as her major. One of her assignments was writing a short story, but she ended up writing 13 pages in just three days. Soon after, submissions for Castings opened up, leading her to take a leap of faith by submitting as many pieces as she could.
Unfortunately, her computer broke shortly after, disrupting not only her writing but also her ability to submit assignments. Despite the setback, she persevered.
If you see Bebe, feel free to congratulate her on her accomplishments. We are so proud of her and all of our staff, who possess their own hidden talents and have their own achievements outside the Kroc Center's walls.
