All applicants must fall under the definition of the membership type for which they are applying.
MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES:
Individual: Any person 18 years or older offers access to the swimming pool, open gym, and fitness center as well as priority sign up for classes and events.
Household: A household consists of at least 1 adult plus 1 other person, plus dependents, all living in the same household.
RESIDENCY POLICY:
A Household membership is defined as any group of individuals legally living in a single residence. ALL adult household members with the Household membership type are required to show valid proof of address for each adult family member. The following are considered valid proof of address: non-expired driver’s license or photo ID, current utility bill (including landline telephone, electric, water, gas, cable, etc. Wireless phone bills cannot accepted), current rental or mortgage agreement, current auto or health insurance policy, current paycheck/check stub, work ID or badge, if address is included. Addresses must match the Primary account holder.
HOW TO APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP:
Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Kroc Center must complete and submit a Membership Application which can be found online or at the Welcome Desk. If completing membership online, bring in proof of residency information for additional adults on the same plan. Prorated membership fees will be due at the time of enrollment and may vary depending upon enrollment date. All applicants over the age of 17 are required to have a photo identification, proof of address, and/or age verification. Members without identification will not be allowed into the Kroc Center.
FORMS OF PAYMENT:
*The Kroc Center does not require a contract for membership. However, if the membership becomes inactive, a $50 registration fee is required to reactivate your account.
Full payment of balance for current month, and if applicable, the following month must be made at the time of registration. For the initial payment, the Kroc Center will accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover (no American Express). Payment will be taken out of the member’s credit card account on the 20th of each month, as payment for the upcoming calendar month.
POLICIES:
Non-Transferable and Non-Refundable Membership Policy:
After an application has been processed, memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable. Memberships cannot be transferred from one member to a new individual once purchased.
Changes to Membership:
The primary member may make account changes. To remove and/or add a member, or give new account information, complete a Member Change form at the Welcome Desk by the 10th of the month. Members also have the option to place the membership account on hold for up to 3-months per calendar year.
Class Refund/Transfer Requests:
Individuals wishing to be considered for a refund or class transfer must complete a Refund/Transfer Request Form available at the Welcome Desk. Requests for certain refunds are assessed an administrative processing fee.
Membership Cancellation:

Members must submit written, dated and signed Membership Change Form to cancel. Request must be submitted by the 10th day of the month for it to become effective in the following month. If a cancellation request is received after the 10th of the month, the member will be responsible for the following month’s membership fees. If a member cancels or if membership payments lapse for more than 90 days, the appropriate registration fee will be charged to reopen the membership account. Only the primary adult on the account may cancel a membership. Identification and a signature are required. Forms are available at the Kroc Center Welcome Desk.
Members:
All members are required to have their membership ID card available to show Kroc Center staff at any time while in the Kroc Center. All members must bring their member cards to check-in.
For safety precautions, Kroc Center members and guests are asked to check in each time they enter the facility.
ID Cards:
Any membership ID card reported stolen while in the Kroc Center should be reported to the Manager on Duty or Welcome Desk staff. ID cards reported lost or stolen will be invalidated. If a membership ID card is found after being reported as lost or stolen, it should be turned in to the Welcome Desk.
Any person attempting to enter the Kroc Center with a stolen ID card will have it confiscated immediately. Membership ID cards not belonging to the bearer or suspicious use of membership ID cards may result in confiscation. The bearer and owner will face disciplinary action (suspension or termination of Kroc Center privileges) and may face additional penalties from police officials in the case of misused membership ID cards.
Replacement Cards:
Membership cards are not to be misplaced or misused in any way. If members damage, bend, cut or lose the membership card they are responsible for getting a replacement card.
Member Guest Pass Policies:
Guest Passes are for sale for use on the date of purchase. All adults purchasing a Guest Pass must provide Valid Photo ID, as all guest and members are screened prior to entry for child-safety purposes. All guests must be accompanied by a current member who is age 18 or older.
Children 3-months or older are required to have a membership or Guest Pass to be admitted to the facility, including Child Watch. Passes are valid the entire day; however, individuals must be able to present their Guest Pass Receipt and/or wristband to the Welcome Desk for re-entry.
Guest Pass holders must follow all Kroc Center policies & procedures. Passes are limited to 1 guest per membership plan per visit. Individuals are allowed to enter as a member’s guest 3x per calendar year.
Guest passes are non-refundable.
Program Participants:
All members and non-members that are participating in a program must check in at the Welcome Desk prior to going to the program location. Non-members must remain in the program area at all times.
Visitors:
All non-member guests not participating in a program or rental must sign-in at the Welcome Desk. Tours will be given as requested.
Rental Participants:
Check in procedures for rental participants will vary based on the arrangements made in advance. In most cases, they will be required to check in at the Welcome Desk.
Refusal of Admission:
The Kroc Center staff reserves the right to deny admission to anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, or in any violation of any facility rules and regulations.
SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS
Only children age 14 and older are allowed to be at the Kroc Center unsupervised (without their parents or guardians present). The only exceptions to this policy are when children are participating in certain organized Kroc programs or activities. Programs are subject to change, so we encourage members to consult member services with questions.
All children age 13 and under must be directly supervised by their parents or guardians while on Kroc Center property. The only exceptions to this policy are when children are participating in Kroc Center organized and supervised activity that requires signing in and signing out (such as Child Watch, Kroc Reach, fee-based programs, etc.).
Parents or guardians of children 13 and under must remain on Kroc Center property while their children are onsite. The only exceptions to this policy are certain specified programs. The Kroc Center will specify policy per program upon registration.
CHILD WATCH:
The short-term Child Watch is a bonus for Kroc members, designed for children 3 months to 13 years of age. This service allows members to drop their child off for up to two hours a day while they utilize the facility or participate in a Kroc Center program or activity.
Child Watch is a limited-availability, drop-in only service that is strictly used on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Although the Kroc Center’s short-term Child Watch is not a licensed child-watch program and is not obligated to follow the codes set by the state of Tennessee, the staff maintains high standards of service that ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Parents must remain at the Kroc Center (inside or outside) for the duration of the child’s visit in the short-term Child Watch.

KROC REACH
The Kroc Reach program is a bonus for Kroc Members, designated for youth 10-17 years of age.
This service allows youth to check themselves in. Parents are allowed to be off-site for the duration of their child’s visit while they are enrolled in Reach. A parent or guardian must be present to check a child age 10-13 years of age out of the program, youth 14 and up can check themselves out.

PARENT PAGING POLICY:
The Child Watch staff reserves the right to page a parent to pick up their child if the child becomes ill, is continuously crying for an extended period of time, is having serious disciplinary problems, is not adjusting in a positive manner, or has an accident. Anytime a parent/guardian is paged, he/she must report to Child Watch within 10 minutes. It is recommended that in order to avoid missing any pages, parents/guardians should not use headphones while their child is in the Child Watch. Additionally, parents/guardians are asked to keep their cell phones visible, accessible and on at all times.
PHOTOGRAPHS AND RECORDINGS: Except for a participant in a private function, no member or guest shall take photographs or make audio or video recordings on Kroc Center premises without the advance approval of a Director. The consent of each person to be photographed or recorded should be obtained in advance except where authorized by a Director for Kroc Center purposes.
PROCESS, SUSPENSION, LONG-TERM
In order to facilitate positive life experiences while at the Kroc Center, mutual respect between members, guests, and staff is required at all times. Failure to observe these policies will result in disciplinary action and/or termination of membership privileges. Center personnel have the right to refuse service to anyone deemed disruptive or abusive.
Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (18 and over) unless enrolled or participating in a program.
Refrain from the use of foul language, abusive actions, and inappropriate behavior.
Youth must be 12 years of age or older in order to enter the fitness area and adult group fitness classes. If a child is between 12-13 years of age, they must be enrolled in REACH, with a parent/guardian, or in another Kroc Program in order to use the fitness center and group exercise classes.
Shirt and shoes must be worn in all areas outside of pools and sun deck. No swimwear or wet clothing is allowed outside of aquatic areas. Proper workout attire is required in fitness area (no street shoes or jeans.) Any clothing with logos or messages must be acceptable in a family setting.
Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, scooters, hoverboards, or pets (excluding service animals) will not be used inside the facility.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not allowed anywhere on the premises.
Smoking and/or use of any type of smokeless tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, vapes are prohibited in the facility or on facility grounds.
Weapons of any kind are forbidden in the facility or on facility grounds. This includes the parking lot area.
Pants shall be worn at the waist.
Locker Use:
Lockers are for use by participants at their own risk. Locks may be placed on lockers but must be removed after the day’s visit or will be removed by the Kroc Center and contents will be donated to the family store.

Instructors are trained in appropriate interactions with Kroc members to enhance learning by creating a safe and inviting environment. Programs involving children are closely monitored to ensure adequate supervision and safe interactions between Kroc personnel and children.
As part of our commitment to the safety of children and vulnerable persons, The Salvation Army Kroc Center reserves the right to consult public sources to determine whether any member or guest of any member poses an unreasonable risk of harm to its patrons, staff, or visitors. The Kroc Center constantly adapts and enhances safety protocols to adjust to needs. Salvation Army personnel and volunteers undergo criminal background checks. Adults accessing the facility will be screened against public sexual offender registry.
The Salvation Army Kroc Center reserves the right to remove from the facility and terminate the membership of any member who fails to comply with any rules and regulation or otherwise breaches the Code of Conduct, in which case member will not be entitled to a refund of dues.

Child Watch is a short-term drop-in service designed for children ages 3 months through 13 years of age. This service allows members and guests to drop their child/children off, for no additional charge for up to two (2) hours per day, while they are able to utilize the facility or participate in a Kroc Center program or activity. NOTE: Parents/guardians must remain in the Kroc Center facility (inside or outside) for the duration of the child’s visit to Child Watch. We adhere closely to state regulations and guidelines; however, Child Watch is not a licensed child care service. The staff maintains high standards of service that ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. All staff is trained in CPR, First Aid, and Safe from Harm as well as has experience working with children.

TIME LIMIT, LATE FEE AND MISSED CALLS
There is a 2 hour maximum time limit per day. Child Watch is a limited availability drop-in only service that is first come, first serve. Capacity is determined based on the ages and activity levels of the children. We use our discretion when determining capacity. Time will be kept by the clock located in the Child Watch area via Kid Check (Note: This time can be split for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, if desired).
For every 10 minutes over the scheduled pick-up time, a late fee of $10.00 will be charged per child.
You are given a warning the 1st time you are late and the 2nd time you will incur a fee. Parents or guardians who receive a 3rd infraction of the policy or lack of payment; Child Watch privileges will be suspended.
Anytime you are called, you must report directly to Child Watch. To avoid missed calls, we recommend you keep your cell phone visible, accessible and near you at all times. Parents/guardians should not use headphones while their child is in the Child Watch department. If a called is missed, you will be given a warning. If it occurs again, you will incur a fee.

Prior to bringing your child to Child Watch, we ask that you pre-register your child for our services online at kidcheck.com or via Kroc website (krocmemphis.org)
When filling out your child/s registration it’s very important to fill out any allergies (e.g. peanuts, fruits, pollen, etc.). Also, list any medical conditions (e.g. Asthma, Epilepsy or anything else you feel we should be made aware of to be able to best look after your child/children). This may include any developmental issues (e.g. ADHD, learning disabilities, etc.). This is not to label your child/children, but to present the best environment, keep your child/children safe while promoting their independence to enable them to have a great experience while with us at Child Watch.

HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES
In an effort to ensure the health and safety of all Child Watch participants and staff members, the following guidelines have been established:
SICK CHILDREN
Children with a contagious illness or fever are not permitted to use Child Watch. In order to prevent the spread of germs, the staff reserves the right to deny a child/children entry to Child Watch if the child/children appear to be sick. If the child gets sick during their appointment, the parent/guardian will be notified immediately and informed of the child’s condition to remove the child from the area as quickly as possible.
MEDICATION
Child Watch staff CANNOT at any time administer medication to children. It is very important for children with Asthma who use an inhaler to carry it with them, as we sometimes do physical activities in our program. We strongly recommend children with severe allergies who require an EpiPen® to carry this with them in a labeled bag. In order to provide a safe environment for our children, please do not to carry any unnecessary medications in their bags.

Prior to arrival, you should attend to the child’s restroom needs as much as possible.

On occasion, we use the playground area of the Kroc Center. Playground equipment is designed for kids 5 years and older. For safety purposes, we also take our younger members onto the field for fun.
ELECTRONICS
(Note: We understand that not all parents want their child/ children to watch TV or play on the iPad, though staff will try to accommodate this, this may not always be possible for the TV as there are many cases where babies/toddlers are crying and children’s nursery rhythms will be played on the TV to help calm them down).
REASONS FOR AQUATIC CENTER RULES
Our pool rules are designed to ensure a fun, safe aquatic environment for all swimmers. It is important that the rules are enforced consistently and with courtesy and tact.
AQUATICS CENTER DRESS CODE
Appropriate swimming attire is required (no street or workout clothes.) All females are required to wear a family friendly swim suit. All Males are to wear swim trunks or triathlon shorts. No cut-offs, gym shorts, or shorts with zippers. No exposed underwear. We reserve the right to ask them to wear a shirt over their swim suit if it is not appropriate or to put on something more appropriate.

Personal training is provided by Kroc Center Personal Trainers only. Outside providers are not allowed.
